2012-01-06arm/PCI: convert to pci_scan_root_bus() for correct root bus resourcesBjorn Helgaas
Convert from pci_scan_bus() to pci_scan_root_bus() and remove root bus resource fixups. This fixes the problem of "early" and "header" quirks seeing incorrect root bus resources. 2012-01-06PCI: ARM: convert pcibios_set_master() to a non-inlined functionMyron Stowe
This patch converts ARM's architecture-specific inlined 'pcibios_set_master()' routine to a non-inlined function. This will allow follow on patches to create a generic 'pcibios_set_master()' function using the '__weak' attribute which can be used by all architectures as a default which, if necessary, can then be over- ridden by architecture-specific code. Converting 'pci_bios_set_master()' to a non-inlined function will allow ARM's 'pcibios_set_master()' implementation to remain architecture- specific after the generic version is introduced and thus, not change current behavior. Note that ARM also has a non-inlined 'pcibios_set_master()' that is used if CONFIG_PCI_HOST_ITE8152 is defined. This patch does not change any behavior here either. No functional change. 2011-10-31arm: convert core files from module.h to export.hPaul Gortmaker
Many of the core ARM kernel files are not modules, but just including module.h for exporting symbols. Now these files can use the lighter footprint export.h for this role. There are probably lots more, but ARM files of mach-* and plat-* don't get coverage via a simple yesconfig build. They will have to be cleaned up and tested via using their respective configs. 2011-10-01ARM: pci: always export pcibios_bus_to_resourceArnd Bergmann
Some PCI drivers call pcibios_bus_to_resource directly, but it is only exported when CONFIG_HOTPLUG is set, because it was initially mean for pccard support. Moving the export out of the #ifdef lets us avoid these build errors: ERROR: "pcibios_bus_to_resource" [drivers/video/vt8623fb.ko] undefined! ERROR: "pcibios_bus_to_resource" [drivers/video/arkfb.ko] undefined! ERROR: "pcibios_bus_to_resource" [drivers/video/s3fb.ko] undefined! Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
2011-07-22PCI: Make the struct pci_dev * argument of pci_fixup_irqs const.Ralf Baechle
Aside of the usual motivation for constification, this function has a history of being abused a hook for interrupt and other fixups so I turned this function const ages ago in the MIPS code but it should be done treewide. Due to function pointer passing in varous places a few other functions had to be constified as well. 2010-02-22resource/PCI: mark struct resource as constDominik Brodowski
Now that we return the new resource start position, there is no need to update "struct resource" inside the align function. Therefore, mark the struct resource as const. 2006-06-25[PATCH] mm: remove VM_LOCKED before remap_pfn_range and drop VM_SHMChristoph Lameter
Remove VM_LOCKED before remap_pfn range from device drivers and get rid of VM_SHM. remap_pfn_range() already sets VM_IO. There is no need to set VM_SHM since it does nothing. VM_LOCKED is of no use since the remap_pfn_range does not place pages on the LRU. The pages are therefore never subject to swap anyways. Remove all the vm_flags settings before calling remap_pfn_range. After removing all the vm_flag settings no use of VM_SHM is left. Drop it. 2005-08-04[PATCH] pci and yenta: pcibios_bus_to_resourceDominik Brodowski
In yenta_socket, we default to using the resource setting of the CardBus bridge. However, this is a PCI-bus-centric view of resources and thus needs to be converted to generic resources first. Therefore, add a call to pcibios_bus_to_resource() call in between. This function is a mere wrapper on x86 and friends, however on some others it already exists, is added in this patch (alpha, arm, ppc, ppc64) or still needs to be provided (parisc -- where is its pcibios_resource_to_bus() ?). Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
