2010-02-10mx31moboard: support for the smartbot baseboardValentin Longchamp
This baseboard is used on the handbot and eybot robots. The sel gpios are used as enables and rst signals on smartbot, thus the sel init is moved from mx31moboard file to board files. Signed-off-by: Valentin Longchamp <valentin.longchamp@epfl.ch> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
2010-01-08imx: only define deprecated symbols conditionallyUwe Kleine-König
Define deprecated symbols in an #ifdef IMX_NEEDS_DEPRECATED_SYMBOLS ... All files that still depend on the old definitions get -DIMX_NEEDS_DEPRECATED_SYMBOLS passed to the compiler. When all remaining users are fixed this allows including the soc specific headers unconditionally. 2009-11-23ARM: MX3: fix CPU revision number detectionDaniel Mack
The macro mx31_revision() used to take the global variable system_rev to determine the CPU revision number. However, this number is expected to be set by the bootloader and is usually zero (at least on my MX31 based boards here). More than that, it is usually taken to identify the board's revision, not the CPU's. Fix that by reading the the CPU's SREV register instead. Right now, mx31_read_cpu_rev() is called from mx31_clocks_init() which is admittedly not a good place for it. However, we need to enable the IIM clock first, and the clock code also has conditional code that depends on mx31_revision() returning the right thing. 2009-11-19ARM: MX3: modularize 'mx31lite' codeDaniel Mack
This commit splits the support code for LogicPD's mx31lite hardware into module and board specific parts. This introduces a new mandatory coreparam called 'mx31lite_baseboard' which specifies the base board support to use. For now, only the LiteKit development board is supported, and developers of own boards are encouraged to use that as reference. The UART support moved to the board code. Some comments were amended along the way. Signed-off-by: Daniel Mack <daniel@caiaq.de> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
2009-06-23ARM: add support for the EET board, based on the i.MX31 pcm037 moduleGuennadi Liakhovetski
The "EET" variant of the pcm037 board has an OLED display, using a S6E63D6 display controller on the first SPI interface, using GPIO57 as a chip-select for it. S6E63D6 is initialised in the boot-loader, so we only have to take care of the LCD. EET also adds several buttons and LEDs on GPIOs. This patch adds a "pcm037_variant=" kernel command line parameter to specify at boot-time which board the kernel is running on, default is "pcm970", specify "eet" for the EET board. 2009-03-13[ARM] MX35: add clock supportSascha Hauer
This patch adds clock support for i.MX35 SoCs. We do not support setting of clock rates yet, but most interesting clock rates should be reported. I couldn't test all clock rates and the datasheet contains some obvious bugs, so expect some bugs in this code. Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>

2009-03-13mx31moboard: initial support for various baseboardsValentin Longchamp
This enables our mx31moboard to be used on the different baseboards that we are developping according to the application needs. There are not many differences between the boards for now, but when other peripherals are available for mx31 the differences are going to grow. v2: takes Sascha's comments into account Signed-off-by: Valentin Longchamp <valentin.longchamp@epfl.ch> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>

2008-07-05MX3: Add basic support for LogicPD i.MX31 LiteKitDaniel Mack
This patch adds basic support for i.MX31 LiteKit by LogicPD. With printascii() in kernel/printk.c, it boots right into the rootfs-panic. Note: This is a modified version of Daniel's patch to fit into this patch stack. > On 09.06.2008, at 17:26, Russell King - ARM Linux wrote: > > > I would much prefer it if board specific includes were included by the > > code which needs them rather than in asm/arch/hardware.h.  With the > > device model, drivers shouldn't need to include any board specific > > includes - only the board specific C file should need it. > > The new version of this patch (#5102) has been uploaded to the patch > tracker this morning. 2008-07-05i.MXC family: Adding timer supportJuergen Beisert
This patch adds timer support for the i.MX machine family. This code can be used on the following machs: - i.MX1 (tested) - i.MX2 (i.MX21 (to be tested), i.MX27 (tested)) - i.MX3 (i.MX31 (tested)) TODO: It seems impossible to build a kernel for more than one CPU because the timer do not follow the platform device rules. So it does only work if timer 1 can be accessed on all CPUs at the same address. Signed-off-by: Juergen Beisert <j.beisert@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>

This patch adds the foundation pieces for the Freescale MXC platforms, including i.MX2 and i.MX3 based systems. The bare-bones MX31 support in this patch boots to the rootdev panic with 8250 serial console configured "console=ttyS0,115200". It assumes that Redboot is the boot loader.
