2014-02-13mtd: mxc_nand: remove duplicated ecc_stats countingMichael Grzeschik
commit 0566477762f9e174e97af347ee9c865f908a5647 upstream. The ecc_stats.corrected count variable will already be incremented in the above framework-layer just after this callback. 2012-12-10mtd: mxc_nand: reorder part_probes to let cmdline override other sourcesLothar Waßmann
The cmdline is the easiest to change source of information. Thus let it take precedence over 'RedBoot' and 'ofpart'. This makes the mxc_nand driver to be in sync with all other NAND drivers that support 'cmdlinepart' partition parsing. Also change 'const char *' to 'const char const *' as advised by checkpatch.pl Signed-off-by: Lothar Waßmann <LW@KARO-electronics.de> Acked-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com>

Just as Artem suggested: "Both UBI and JFFS2 are able to read verify what they wrote already. There are also MTD tests which do this verification. 2012-03-27mtd: flash drivers set ecc strengthMike Dunn
Flash device drivers initialize 'ecc_strength' in struct mtd_info, which is the maximum number of bit errors that can be corrected in one writesize region. Drivers using the nand interface intitialize 'strength' in struct nand_ecc_ctrl, which is the maximum number of bit errors that can be corrected in one ecc step. Nand infrastructure code translates this to 'ecc_strength'. Also for nand drivers, the nand infrastructure code sets ecc.strength for ecc modes NAND_ECC_SOFT, NAND_ECC_SOFT_BCH, and NAND_ECC_NONE. It is set in the driver for all other modes. 2011-09-11mtd: nand: rename NAND_USE_FLASH_BBTBrian Norris
Recall the recently added prefix requirements: * "NAND_" for flags in nand.h, used in nand_chip.options * "NAND_BBT_" for flags in bbm.h, used in nand_chip.bbt_options or in nand_bbt_descr.options Thus, I am changing NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT to NAND_BBT_USE_FLASH. 2011-09-11mtd: nand: consolidate redundant flash-based BBT flagsBrian Norris
This patch works with the following three flags from two headers (nand.h and bbm.h): (1) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (nand.h) (2) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (nand.h) (3) NAND_BBT_NO_OOB (bbm.h) These flags are all related and interdependent, yet they were in different headers. Flag (2) is simply the combination of (1) and (3) and can be eliminated. This patch accomplishes the following: * eliminate NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (i.e., flag (2)) * move NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (i.e., flag (1)) to bbm.h It's important to note that because (1) and (3) are now both found in bbm.h, they should NOT be used in the "nand_chip.options" field. I removed a small section from the mtdnand DocBook because it referes to NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT in nand.h, which has been moved to bbm.h. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6 into for-linus-1 * 'master' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6: (9356 commits) [media] rc: update for bitop name changes fs: simplify iget & friends fs: pull inode->i_lock up out of writeback_single_inode fs: rename inode_lock to inode_hash_lock fs: move i_wb_list out from under inode_lock fs: move i_sb_list out from under inode_lock fs: remove inode_lock from iput_final and prune_icache fs: Lock the inode LRU list separately fs: factor inode disposal fs: protect inode->i_state with inode->i_lock lib, arch: add filter argument to show_mem and fix private implementations SLUB: Write to per cpu data when allocating it slub: Fix debugobjects with lockless fastpath autofs4: Do not potentially dereference NULL pointer returned by fget() in autofs_dev_ioctl_setpipefd() autofs4 - remove autofs4_lock autofs4 - fix d_manage() return on rcu-walk autofs4 - fix autofs4_expire_indirect() traversal autofs4 - fix dentry leak in autofs4_expire_direct() autofs4 - reinstate last used update on access vfs - check non-mountpoint dentry might block in __follow_mount_rcu() ... NOTE! This merge commit was created to fix compilation error. The block tree was merged upstream and removed the 'elv_queue_empty()' function which the new 'mtdswap' driver is using. So a simple merge of the mtd tree with upstream does not compile. And the mtd tree has already be published, so re-basing it is not an option. To fix this unfortunate situation, I had to merge upstream into the mtd-2.6.git tree without committing, put the fixup patch on top of this, and then commit this. The result is that we do not have commits which do not compile. In other words, this merge commit "merges" 3 things: the MTD tree, the upstream tree, and the fixup patch.
2011-03-11mtd: mxc_nand: fix OOB corruption when page size > 2KiBBaruch Siach
When page size is 4KiB, ecc.total is set to 8*9, and this causes nand_write_page_hwecc() to read past the initialized part of the eccpos array, which corrupts chip->oob_poi with bogus values from ecc_calc. Fix this by creating a proper nand_ecclayout for 4KiB flashes.
